Magically transform your mason jars

If you really enjoy jam and you have already collected a mountain of empty jars, here is the perfect way to turn them into something beautiful for your home decoration. Either you decide to keep it as a plain decorative element or you end up putting a candle in it, the result is going to be equivalently spectacular.
Now, let’s see what we will need in order to make it. The materials are simple, easy to find and low-cost.

Materials:

·         An empty jar
·         A pair of scissors
·         A cinnamon stick
·         A ribbon
·         Lace
·         A paintbrush
·         White glue
First of all, we need to cut the lace all along the diameter and height of the jar (right before its “neck”). Don’t worry if it is a bit longer or wider; it can be trimmed easily later on.
We will cover the surface of the jar in glue. The color is nothing to preoccupy us, since it’s going to become transparent once the glue dries.

Time to get dirty and put the lace all over the surface of the jar. Be careful to slightly push the lace against the jar walls, to ensure that it will stick.

It is better to be sure that the beginning and the end of the lace are stable, so don’t hesitate to apply one more layer of glue on the top of them.

Leave the jar aside to dry overnight. It will be ready once everything becomes transparent. Meanwhile, let’s prepare its decorations. We take the cinnamon stick, the ribbon and we make a simple bow.

Once the lace is stuck on the jar, use the glue to attach the cinnamon stick on the jar. Apply some glue on the knot as well, to prevent it from loosening. Leave it also to dry overnight, and your decorative jar will be ready for use! Don’t forget to trim any remaining lace off the edges!
